The Loneliest Whale in the World

In 1989, marine biologists found an unidentified whale that made a sound frequency of 52 Hz. This was unusual because whales were usually known to communicate between frequencies of 10 - 40 Hz. It became evident that this whale could very well have never been heard by its kind. Yet the whale kept on, calling out and singing and was spotted often around the waters.

This whale was termed "the loneliest whale in the world". But it's resilience inspired BTS to use it as a metaphor in their songs, giving people hope to overcome loneliness and anxiety.
